About the Author
William Scott Webber, an octogenarian of 87 years, is a retired Federal executive. He grew up on a Kansas farm, attended Washburn University and later John Hopkins University, and had a 37-year career in the Social Security system from its inception in 1936 through 1974, with time out as a Merchant Marine officer during World War II, serving in the North Atlantic, South Pacific and Mediterranean theaters. He was awarded the Combat Bar (with stars) and the Philippine Liberation Bar (with stars). After 15 years as a tax consultant and managing partner in a real estate venture, he retired again in 1990 and has continued his world-wide travels. A widower the past 10 years, he now lives in Las Vegas, continuing an avid interest in reading, travel and contract bridge. "Been There--Done That" is his first book.
