About the Author
My name is Angela M.C. Carr and I am from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago. Being born to Rev. Cecil and the late Mother Rosa Carr, on the 22nd of July 1963, I am of the lineage of Amphy and Bachanna Jackson, two Afro American Slaves (Chiefs in their original home land of Africa) whose descendants it was prophesied, would be leaders in whatever land they found themselves. I also descended from a cacique or chief of the Caribs of St. Vincent and am also a decendant of the Merikins (slave ancestors who fought wars for the English (1812-1814), in exchange for their freedom). My grandmothers father's cousin was Pa Pa Neeza, also a decendant and healer from the sixth company who lived in Trinidad. The Merikins were not weaklings who came, they were a strong and skilled people. I guess you could say that in my veins, runs the blood of Royalty from two streams. I'm passionate about music and enjoy nature walks. I am the parent of Wendell, Nackharma, Nackheeda and Ackheenee Oliver. There is also a new addition to the family, my daughter Winter Bando. I am a Graduate of the University of the West Indies where I read for a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology and Psychology. I have a diploma in Business Management and Computer Operations and have worked as a Journalist and Photographer, with a leading newspaper. I am presently employed with the Statutory Board of Trinidad and Tobago as the Welfare Officer for a leading Childrens Home. I have recently received a Master's in Business Administration ( MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business via the Sital College of Tertiary Education, Trinidad and Tobago.
