About the Author

Elizabeth Buttorff Petway Moses was born December 7, 1913 in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1935 she married Will Moses, a graduate student in English at Vanderbilt University. Her son was born in Washington, D.C., where Will Moses was stationed during World War Two. In 1950 they moved to Manhattan, Kansas, and they remained there for 51 years until, in 2001, they rejoined their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren in Williamsport, Pennsylvania; Will Moses died suddenly a few months thereafter. Elizabeth Moses’ spiritual quest has continued lifelong, and she has found a home among the Quakers.
