About the Book
"Sunny and the Dragon" is the story of Sunny Backus, who, in the daytime has a family and friends to talk to and play with; but, at night in her dreams she is alone with a terrible fire breathing dragon. Sunny is chased awake by the dragon; so, she asks her family and friends how to make the dragon go away. Later, in Sleepy World, with the dragon closing in on her again, Sunny, remembering the advice she was given during the daytime gets some help from an unexpected source.
About the Author
Dennis Perry, whose desk is under a green leaping frog, is a working librarian who lives in Chicago. He is the Teen Liaison for the library, and is the coordinator and moderator for the summer Teen Book Discussion group. He is also the coordinator and sometimes moderator for the Adult Book Club. Dennis Perry has a B.A. in American History and Literature and two Masters Degrees-an MLS and a MSHSA. He is thankful to the U.S. Government and the G.I. Bill for the B.A. and to the City of Chicago for the Masters in Library Science. Mr. Perry was awarded the Spirit of Rogers Award in 1995 for his “extensive community involvement (making) Rogers Park a great community to live, work and raise a family…” Dennis is also the author of Yakabou Must Choose: An African Adventure for Boys and Girls.
