THE AUTHORS OF THE BOOK JOHN A BILES is a Distinguished Emeritus Professor at the University of Southern California where he has served as professor since 1952. During this period he served as Dean of a Health Science School for more than 26 years. Dr. Biles is the author of more than 40 articles dealing with medical and health care services and pharmaceutical research. He has received awards for excellence in teaching and has been recognized as alumnus of the year from the University of Colorado. He served in the office of the president, including president, of his national professional society for a three-year period. For more than 40 years Dr. Biles has been a consultant to the pharmaceutical industry and has served on the Boards of Directors of Allergan, Marion Laboratories and Marion Merrill Dow. NORMAN B. SIGBAND is Distinguished Emeritus Professor at the University of Southern California where he has served as Professor, Department chair and Associate Dean. He has directed executive programs and business management and health care management. He is the author of 12 books, one of which has been translated into Chinese and Spanish and scores of articles and research papers that have been published widely. He has also written and supervised the production of 3 videos used in business and collegiate settings. Dr. Sigband has received an honorary doctorate, numerous excellence in teaching awards and citations for this contributions to higher education including the prestigious Albert and Elaine Borchard prestigious award. He has also served as a consultant to dozens of the Fortune 500 companies such as Merck, Dole, GE, Lockheed, Hughes, TRW, Edison, McDonnell Douglas, Santa Fe, and Pfizer and others.
