About the Book

The year is 2220 A.D. People of Earth have ventured into space and been befriended by the people of the solar system Alpha Centauri. Both races were so alike and compatible they could intermix. The offspring of the alliance were like a match made in heaven. The most notable surprise, a slight genetic mutation endowing them with stronger telepathic abilities and greater physical strength. It was even noted some were able to move objects with kinetic mental concentration. However, there were other forces in the universe quite different, forces that wanted to enslave and dominate the two worlds.

A sneak attack by the Procyon Empire began a war of survival for the people of the alliance. Marshall Everett, code name Falcon and Captain of the cruiser Excalibur, was called into the middle of the fray shortly after returning from a deep space mission.

Space Command tried to recover his crew from furlough but his weapons officer had to be replaced with a substitute. Enter Brenerin Cereianna, born on Noriellis, a satellite of Alpha Centauri, the daughter of a Noriellian father and an Earthling mother. Beginning the mission of discovering who has attacked them with some friction between them, they set out to find the Glat Nor race of the Procyon Empire as the culprits.

Fortunately, at the onset of war a tremendous discovery is made in engine technology. A new system enabling ships to travel at speeds of unbelievable imagination. Excalibur is put into Moonbase for an engine installation.

Marshall Everett and Brenerin Cereianna fall into a romantic situation where she discovers her love for a deceased lover is more than she can bare. She leaves the ship and sets out on a space freighter for her home planet only to be captured by the Glat Nor before she arrives. Imprisoned on the hell planet Cestus II, she has to face the reality no one knows where she is and that there will be no hope or rescue.

Everett however sets out to find her and fight a war all at the same time. Needless to say he succeeds and rescues her. On their return they find changes taking place in fleet command. The cruiser Aurora, commanded by her father, has been equipped with the new drive. Her father is being promoted to Admiral, and Brenerin is being promoted to take command of the Aurora.

Captain Everett is placed in command of a strike force comprised of Excalibur and Aurora to enter enemy territory and carry the war to the enemy. The results are devastating for the Procyon and Glat Nor and within a matter of months and several running battles the two allied ships produce a victory for the alliance.

Together they return to Earth, a long furlough, a marriage, and the prospect of more missions in the future.
