About the Book

An All American City, Cleveland, having been so declared in the early 90’s for its refurbished downtown of new Stadiums, Arenas, and Museums ... is still broken ... in its public educational system and crumbling school buildings, in its neglected neighborhoods, its high unemployment, inadequate housing, and filled jails ... until the people, all the people, rich and poor, old and young, and especially the children say NO MORE! Until they fight in federal court on whether the United States is a nation under God!

Jimmy Altimanno, a self-described “Bum from the corner,” grows up in Cleveland with all the trappings of city life in the 50’s and 60’s to become a teacher and lawyer who, in the 70’s and 80’s as he climbs the ladder of success, fights for the underprivileged and better neighborhoods. Then, in the 90’s, when all the Stadiums and Museums are built and downtown is booming, he runs for Mayor of Cleveland.

At closed down John Adams High School in the core of the city, with an army of young people and a special Group of 100 as supporters, they go to the “Tents” and fight a War!

... and the War goes ’round the World!
