About the Book

Albania and the Albanians have been a paradox wrapped in an enigma. Although they are the poorest country in Europe, they are one of the richest in historical terms. Protected by their mountain bastions, they have been able to avoid assimilation and thus able to preserve the pristine (pure) nature of their language (original Indo-European), thus providing the prime source of research material for philologists to study the links of the Illyrians (Albanian’s ancestors) to other peoples -- including the Etruscans, the main theme of this work.

About the Author

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, and reared in Hartford, Connecticut, Lou Giaffo can sum up his life in three words: art, teaching and writing. Lou launched his art career as a commercial artist in “The Big Apple”(New York City), following his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. Although an eighth-grade dropout, Lou eventually earned his master’s degree in education, resulting in a career change into teaching. But Lou’s greatest achievement is as the proud dad of Jason Lou Giaffo, his nine-year-old son, a straight-A honor student, now in the fourth grade.
