About the Book

Tell Joshua: The Wars of the Judges tells the saga of how Joshua led a landless nation in a five- year battle to gain a homeland in Canaan and how the leaders that followed him fought to keep it. Living three thousand years ago at the dawn of the Iron Age in a violent, superstitious land, Joshua and the Judges struggled to protect their people and to keep faith with God, while their people, the Israelites, sometimes coexisted with the local pagans, sometimes massacred them, and often were off having sex with them. From the ripping yarn that is the tale of Samson to the gentle, loving tale of Ruth, from the stories of the classic military strategies of Joshua and Gideon to the story of the unyielding spiritual leadership of Samuel, the last Judge, these stories are timeless treasures.

About the Author

Sue Sandidge is the author of I Will Bring You Back: The Story of Jacob, His Sons, and His God and Tell Joshua: The Wars of the Judges. She is currently working on a book called Forty Years in the Wilderness: Moses Leads the Bible’s Lost Generation. She is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a M.A. from Tufts University in Child Study and a Ph. D. from the University of Minnesota in Educational Psychology. She lives in Shoreview, Minnesota.
