This is the autobiography of aviation pioneer, John Thomson. By age six John was already obsessed with flying. He grew up near Teterboro (NJ) Airport and knew Lindbergh, Earhart, Admiral Byrd, Fokker and Chamberlin. By age twenty-two John had designed, built and flown fourteen aircraft. He met his wife of sixty-three years following not just one but two forced landings. He was one of the first Civilian Pilot Training instructors. He was a pilot with Trans World Airlines for thirty-two years and tells of pioneering flights. John spent thirty-seven years racing planes, becoming President of the Professional Race Pilots Association. He built his own airport and refurbished antique planes. John was inducted into the New Jersey Aviation Hall of Fame, joining flyers like Lindbergh, Earhart, Byrd, Fokker, and Chamberlin. This book is packed with aviation adventures.
