About the Book

TIME FOR ONE MORE PLAY brings back many vivid memories of the effect of the mind set of The Seventies” had on our family and the lives of so many of our nations college age young people. The University of Illinois football team of which Jerry Gibson was a Chaplain, was impacted by his ministry as seen in the contribution he made on the lives of the athletes he mentored. “None played a more important roll in the Illinois success of l974 than a slow-footed quarterback who made up for what ever talent he lacked as a runner with pinpoint passing, a ton of inspiration and icy nerves in the clutch,” wrote Lon Eubanks in his book, “The Fighting Illini.” We might add, This was especially true when “there was time for just one more play.” The real success for Jeff Hollenbach, came however, because of he had faith in Jesus Christ, in his teammates, and in himself, and that faith grew and bore fruition because of the profound influence that Jerry and Normadeene Gibson had on his life, and that of Jeff’s brother Mark, who incidentally followed Jerry’s footsteps, and became a minister of the Gospel. The entire Hollenbach family shall be forever indebted to Jerry and Normadeene Gibson for the guidance, care and love they have given so freely. This sentiment is shared by many others who they ministered to in The Seventies.” Charles and Maggai Hollenbach

About the Author

I am honored to commend Jerry Gibson, the author of Angels in Africa to you. I have been acquainted with Jerry from the very beginning of his Christian walk. I well recall when he showed up on our doorstep in Minneapolis, as we provided lodging for him and several other prospective students of Minnesota Bible College. We have followed his illustrious career with his faithful wife Normadeene from its inception. It is a thrilling story of Christian pioneering. Jerry has ministered to local congregations, planted new churches. He has served as a professor and president of a Bible college, and was a pioneer in establishing campus ministries. His most noteworthy accomplishment is what prompted the writing of this book, Angels in Africa, as he and Normadeene traveled with their four children to Ghana, West Africa to be the Founders of Ghana Christian College and Seminary. This book tells of the perils they faced, and the encounters they had with angels, which helped them accomplish their mission in Ghana. All four of the children were delivered from the jaws of death by guardian angels. You will be inspired and have your faith strengthened as you read about these thrilling encounters.
