About the Book

A few evenings later, at the museum, Dr. Mann is directing the placement of the finishing touches to the Tutankhamen exhibit. As he walks through the shadows and subdued light, past the pictures of Tutankhamen and the Valley of the Kings, he suddenly clutches at his chest and falls onto a nearby bench under a large graphic depiction of Tut, who seems to be staring down at him reproachfully. Back at Dr. Mann’s home, the phone rings and when Ankhe answers Jerry hears her cry out. She tells Jerry his uncle has just suffered a heart attack. “You see. You see,” she says through her tears. “King Tut’s curse!” - - Tales from the Valley of the Couch Potatoes.
