Richard L. Spencer, Jr., is a Baptist minister, retired teacher, and composer of the Grammy winning song, “Color Him Father.” He studied for a Doctorate in political science at Howard University, holds an MS in Labor/ Management Relations and a BA in Political Science from the University of the District of Columbia. He previously wrote The Molasses Tree: A Southern Love Story. Angela Boatright-Spencer, an Episcopal priest, is a former nun and journalist. She is the author of In The Time of Trouble, published by LeaderResources. Her writings have appeared in periodicals and websites, and in the anthology Race and Prayer (Morehouse). She holds a BA from Cornell, an MSJ from Columbia, and an M.Div from Union Theological Seminary (NYC).
