About Buddy Buddy was not always a cook, he started out as on of Santa’s Christmas Tree Caretakers. You see the elves all learn one job and strive to be the best at that job as they can be. Now that’s what Buddy did, he went on to study trees and become an Arborist. But one day while taking care of a sick christmas tree near the kitchen he noticed what great smells were coming from within. He peered inside to see Mrs. Claus and a small army of elves helping her make cookies, breads and other great looking treats. Over the next few days the smells of the cookies and other food really got to him, then one late afternoon while there was no one in the kitchen he went in through the back door. What a great place to work he thought to himself, different spices, filled his senses. He started to play around with one of Mrs. “C's” recipes that he found on the counter top. When all of a sudden Mrs. “C” walked in. Watching him she noticed that he had a knack for cooking. She stepped back out of the kitchen and that night talked to Santa about what happened. After a week or so of Buddy sneaking in and out of the kitchen, Santa called him into see him. Now Buddy thought to himself that he was in some kind of trouble, but that was not to be. To his surprise Mrs. Claus was standing there also. Santa told Buddy how happy he was in his work, then Mrs. “C” spoke up and told Buddy how she had been watching him in the kitchen over the past few weeks. What happened next has only happened once before to any elf. He was asked if he would like to work full time with Mrs. Claus in the kitchen. Up to this time the only other elf to do this was an elf named Hermise who made toys but wanted to be a dentist. To break out of one class and into another was unheard of. The look on his face I hear was one for the books. With a loud yes he became the newest member of the kitchen staff. Since that day many years ago Buddy has come along way in the kitchen, and is very well respected. He encourages anyone to strive to become whatever you want to be, and just keep on track and go for it!
