About the Author
The author has spent most of his life learning about and enjoying boating on other people’s boats. His love for boating started as child, learning the basics of boating on his Dad’s old Chris Craft cabin cruiser (to be truthful, he more enjoyed the beach and the water, than he did the boat). As time passed, his interest in boating grew as he bought a sunfish and began sailing on the lakes of New Hampshire. Once out of college, he started crewing on other people’s sailboats (thanks Dave!) and began to appreciate ocean sailing and navigation. As years passed, this shameless habit continued as he spent time sailing the waters off the California coast on his father-in-law’s boat (thanks Lee!) and the waters off of the Maine coast on his Uncle’s boat (thanks Uncle George). In early 2003, and much to the relief of friends and relatives, the author finally made an honest man out of himself and bought his own boat. He, his wife and their two children keep their boat in Kittery, Maine.
