About the Author

John Camblin was born August 1941 in the city of Armagh in the Providence of Ulster. He was educated at Belfast Royal Academy and went to Medical School at the Queens University at Belfast. While an intern, he told the kitchen staff at the hospital in which he was working that the food was not as well prepared as it should be. Their response was, “Here are the raw ingredients, see if you can do better yourself”. He did. Next thing, he was cooking the evening meal for all of the intern staff including himself. In 1975, he immigrated to the U.S., became a citizen and served in the Florida Air National Guard and the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a flight surgeon. He is also a civilian pilot and was a flight instructor for a time. He is married and lives with his wife of his horse farm with five dogs, assorted cats and three goats. He still cooks most of the meals at home. His wife, Cecelia says, “I encourage him all I can since he cooks better than I”.
