About the Book
Flyaway, Adventures with Albert, is a young person’s fantasy adventure novel about a teen age boy and his sister who magically travel to another world on a magnificent winged Unicorn because it is believed that Albert has some powers that can help in a struggle of three nations beset by an evil King who wishes to dominate that world. Albert is reluctant to join them, feeling threatened and needing to protect his little sister, but they are soon involved and the story concerns their adventures, the friends and enemies they meet along the way, the emotional attachments that are formed, and the conclusion, when they find themselves equally reluctant to leave.
About the Author
Mr. Boebel has an unusual relationship to writing. He began writing in college, but found himself influenced by contemporary writers and unable to "find my own voice". Not wanting to produce work laden with the sex and violenceso prevalent in contemporary fiction, he quit writing, joining a new spiritual group and pursuing other interests, Years later he received an inspiration to begin writing once more, but with the same reservations. He decided to write a novel of fantasy and adventure for young people, one that would please his own children, and reinforce the values in the literature that excited him as a child. The result is this book.
