About the Author
Elizabeth Gill, a retired teacher, began her school days at a little one-teacher rural school, County Line, in Franklin County, Texas. After receiving her B.A. degree from East Texas Baptist College in 1949, she and her new husband went to Mont Belvieu, Texas, to teach in Barbers Hill High School. In a series of essays, she writes about her life as a country school girl, of her family life, and her adventures as a high school teacher.
