About the Book
These poems have been written over a period of some thirty years. Each poem was written during those few moments when the ideas and lyric binding came to mind. The poems have not undergone rewriting. Perhaps a word here and there may be changed on second reading, but largely the poem is, as it was written in that short period of inspiration. I believe that a poem is the “history of a moment” and as such is not faithful to the reality of that brief epiphany if reworked in another time. They are various in themes, reflecting the experiences of the author’s life. These poems may be most appreciated by those who have known the tender eagerness of love and have learned something of the paradoxical nature of the human condition. An author can only hope that there may be a poem that will reverberate with the reader’s life experience. This book is dedicated to my muse and love Inger Lise Nissen. The author is a physician, living in Mequon, Wisconsin.
