About the Author
Denise Ostermayer Stephenson was born on Galveston Island, Texas and grew up in a rural area on the mainland near there. She was married for many years, and raised a son and a daughter. Through the years, she wrote many unpublished pieces which were lost to Hurricane Katrina. She was a police dispatcher when the hurricane came ashore in Waveland, Ms. This publication documents her personal experiences during and after the disaster.
