About the Book

“Mercy, Merci” is a novel of adventure, mystery and romance during the Revolutionary War. As in “The Glove,” published in 2005, this novel contains original poetry as well as familiar historical characters. Although the story is fictitious, many events actually occurred, and it is around these events that the story is woven.

About the Author

Author Jean Edwards lives in Appleton, Maine on the banks of the St. George River. This is her third Mattie McCracken children’s book. She also writes Maine based historical novels and books of poetry about the Pine Tree State. Mattie is portrayed by Madison Edwards and Byron by her brother, Thomas. Tutu is a well remembered family pet.
