About the Book
In this collection of 39 color photographs Nicholas Steiner attempts to capture the diversity of life in America, a vision flavored with nostalgia, irony and wry humor. He encountered these subjects in places as far apart as New England, New Mexico and North Carolina, yet found others within 2 blocks of his home in Northern NJ.
About the Author
The author is a Board Certified internist who practiced in New York City until 1984 when illness necessitated early retirement. An earlier memoir “UNFORESEEN CONSEQUENCES: A Physician’s Personal Triumph over Advanced Melanoma” (Xlibris) relates how cancer affected his professional and personal lives, and the key role played by Traditional Chinese Medicine (herbs) in his “miraculous” recovery. In between writing these memoirs Steiner compiled a narrative based on his (German) grandparents and parents’ lives before, during and after WW II. An avid photographer since age 15, he has published many books of his pictures.
