These are poems to alleviate depression for every age; however, this is explicitly meant for students. The book can be the student’s friend when crisis curses the mind.

Fears have no end if you bend.
They may impel you to the far end.
Shine your bright eyes, see the clear sky.
Hear the echoing songs from the highest mountains

About the Author

Dr. Sylva Portoian is a Pediatrician of Armenian ancestry, trained in England. Started rhyming from age seven, discontinued writing {poeming} on entering medical school.

During year 2006 had time to rhyme poetry once again. She has written more than 400 poems in one year. She has written medical articles in well-known journals {1984-1987}: Lancet, Archives of Diseases in Childhood, Tropical Pediatrics, Annals of Genetics [Paris], Inherited Metabolic Diseases and the Journal of Cardio-Vascular Surgery. Also many articles on: Health Education in the local newspapers about: Asthma; Vaccination; Diarrhea; Cerebral Palsy and how to care for handicap children.

Sylva Portoian is the Carnegie Spring 2009 Poetry Contest Winner.

In addition, she presented medical papers in international conferences.
