About the Book
Monty Molar and Friends is part of the Bright Futures in Iowa Oral Health Education series. This volume is geared toward preschool age children and contains six learning chapters (modules). Each chapter is followed by a page with suggested activities. The chapter contents are broken down into (1) Identification of Oral Conditions, (2) Plaque Control, (3) Fluorides and Other Minerals, (4) Routine Dental Visits, (5)Nutrition and Reduction of Sugar and (6) Injury Prevention. The Monty Molar series included companion videos and study guides for Grades PK -High School, Parents-to-Be, and Parents of children ages 0-3.
About the Author
Ann Chambers is a graduate of the Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe, Louisiana. She holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene and a Master’s of Science degree in Health Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Throughout her 32 year career in the healthcare industry, Ms. Chambers has worked as a hygienist, public health advocate, and executive director of Word-of-Mouth: Oral Health Education Connection. Ann Chambers resides in Council Bluffs, Iowa and is the mother of three children and two grandchildren.
