About the Author
Carolyn Melvin and her husband, Jim, live at Thorp, Washington. They have raised, trained and shown Arabian horses and ponies for forty years. Their children, Jon and Crystal, lived pony-back when young. Carolyn and the family went on to enjoy driving, cow cutting, english pleasure, backcountry riding and competitive distance events. They also raise and adore Shetland Sheepdogs. Carolyn is an artist specializing in leather sculptured wall hangings. Carolyn’s folks gave her a Collie puppy and a pony foal for her sixth birthday. Her life and emotions have been tightly intertwined with animals ever since.
