About the Book

The Boy & the Giftless Tree is a compelling story about an eight year old boy named Timothy, who is an only child raised by a single parent. It takes place during the Christmas holiday and Timothy anticipates the type of Christmas most children dream of. He expects to awake to find a Christmas tree filled with gifts. However on Christmas morning Timothy awakens to find a Giftless tree! Timothy felt as if he had done something wrong and questioned if God had heard his prayer. His mother comforts him as she explains that in his most time of despair is when he should have faith in God’s word. Timothy still cannot help but feel sad and alone. But God did hear Timothy’s prayer. He had already set in motion a way to lift little Timothy’s spirits. Soon there came a surprise at the door. When Timothy and his mother answered there stood some familiar faces! Neighbors and friends gathered round to unite for a common cause. Some came with food and others baring gifts and they sang Christmas Carroll’s as they stood in the midst. This story was written for children and families of all race, color, religion or creed. Most will be able to relate to this story because it deals with real life situations. There are families who not only struggle during the holidays but throughout the year. It was important for me to tell this story in hopes of bringing families and communities closer together. It demonstrates love, faith and community support. The message is clear, love thy neighbor and most importantly keep your faith.

About the Author

CAROLYN PAIGE: I grew up in Fredericksburg, VA, where I first discovered my talent for writing in grade school. Writing poetry started out as just a personal hobby that I shared only with family & friends. As my writing matured I discovered an even greater interest in writing music. My love for music made me realize that poetry & music go hand in hand. I then started sharing my work with a larger audience, reading my poetry in local book stores and singing the songs I wrote in churches, at locations that had karaoke, and funerals. After experiencing similar adversities, it was during the holidays that I became inspired to write, THE BOY & THE GIFTLESS TREE. I then turned it into a play and selected members of the family to perform in front of our family for Christmas. This is when I knew I had to share Timothy’s story with the world.
