About the Book
In traces I have tried to show the simultaneous existence of lives in many plains of existence, and that we play many roles in realities we are not even aware of, the role we play in one we change in another. It is a story of love that transcends both time and plains of existence and exposes the spirit in us all. The stage is set in the antebellum south and Eugene` a beautiful and bright aristocratic young woman is unhappy with the suitors of her station and allows her mind to wander and cry out for a love that is one with her soul. She fi nds it in Albius a young white slave and as their passion for each other cries out for fulfi llment Eugene` becomes pregnant and her fear of detection becomes heightened almost to the point of frenzy. Her fear is not so much for herself as it is for Albius. God only knows what her father would do to her, but he would most certainly hang Albius. Her brother Andre` has his own problems when he falls in love with Amy a young prostitute whom he wishes to marry despite the obstinate wishes of his father. Eugene` and Albius love though seemingly destined for failure will school many hearts and show that love if real can never be destroyed.
