About the Book
Hopes and Prayers, offers a poetic approach to living, and loving someone. A religious approach to our world is universal, and prayer may offer solace under myriad circumstances. At the same time, we all hope for better days. My pieces offer a different means, and will be interpreted according to individual tastes. I hope and pray everyone who takes the time to meander through my thoughts will find a word or two that applies, and offers a different meaning to every day events.
About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR MY NAME IS JOHN H. MACDONALD. I DIDN’T START WRITING UNTIL MY MID 50’S. A LIFETIME OF LABOR, OFTEN PHYSICAL, WAS EMPHYSIZED BY A MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT, WHICH BEGAN A PERIOD OF LOST TIME BEGINNING IN A STATE OF COMA. DURING THE ENSUEING RECOVERY PERIOD, I BEGAN EXPRESSING MYSELF IN PROSE. MY FIRST ATTEMPT WAS BASICALLY NOTHING MORE THAN A FUTILE ENDEAVOR. BUT, YOU LIVE AND LEARN. MY WRITING WAS A NERVOUS RELEASE TO DAYS OF CHANGE FOR ME. THESE PIECES WOULD MAGICALLY APPEAR AND VIRTUALLY STUPIFY ME. GOD HAS GIVEN ME ANOTHER CHANCE, ANOTHER MEANS. IT MAY BE LETTERS, OR A JOURNAL, AND IN SOME CASES A BOOK OF ANY SORTS, BUT, I BELIEVE WE ALL ATTEMPT TO COMMUNICATE A LIVING EXPERIENCE, AN ON GOING DIALOG OF WHO WE ARE AND THE STRUGGLES WE HAVE ENDURED. WELL, HERE ARE MINE.
