About the Book

In a world of multiple peoples with varied religions, cultures and lifestyles, today’s children face new obstacles in discovering and appreciating, who they are. Into such a world comes Wilbur, a small seed growing rapidly in a large world. Like many youngsters, Wilbur fixes on what he sees as the ideal image and seeks to match it as best he can. Fortunately, he is not alone. His new friends: the owl, the bee and the butterfly all are happy to assist him with his growth in self understanding. They are patient and encouraging when he is sometimes sad and mistaken. Together, they work to open his eyes to see inward, as well as outward. With his new vision, Wilbur is able to see his true self, with all his unique gifts and abilities.

About the Author

David grew up in the Midwest in the midst of a family of storytellers and readers. From the time he was young, he and his grandmother “swapped tales” about almost everything. Jo’s family told their stories through media of poetry, music, and humor. Her friends often tell her that she should be a stand up comedian. They now live in San Antonio, Texas, where the tale of Wilbur was first heard as a bedtime story.
