About the Book

Meet Marty, a very special seven -year old boy who is just like any other boy, except that he has Cerebral Palsy and is in a wheelchair. Unfortunately, some people just ignore Marty because they cannot see anything beyond his wheel chair and do not take the time to realize how special he really is, Marty loves to create art, likes animals and enjoys going to the beach; he even won a very special Gold Medal because of his determination. Meet Marty and you will never forget how big of a heart he has and how special he really is!

About the Author

Dennis Vanasse M.Ed. was born in Mystic, CT and is the second oldest of eight children. Dennis is the author of the children's books, "I Am Special Too","Stand Tall Against Bullying, and Everyone Belongs." He graduated from Anna Maria College in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and received his Masters of Education in Special Education from Fitchburg State University in 1997. He is currently the Director of the Student Success Center and an Adjunct Professor at Anna Maria College. In addition, Dennis is a Special Education Department Head at South High Community School in Worcester, MA. He lives in Worcester with his wife Kerri, and his four children: Sarah-14, Katie-13, Matthew-12, and Tommy-8. Dennis' passion is working with special needs children and writing books to help educate adults and children about supporting each other.
