Merik is a happy, laughing girl except when she is in trouble, and that seems to be a lot these days. She is in trouble again, and her thoughts keep running and jumping around in her head until she can’t think straight. What if she has a defective brain? What if she has Thought Beasts and will never be able to tame them? Well, help rides in and things get really interesting. A beautiful dragonfly meets Merik in her dreams and takes her to a Land above the Mist of Illusion where Dragonfly becomes a beautiful and loving Dragon, Merik’s special friend and guide. Above the Mist, Merik finds a place where she knows and understands things she doesn’t know and understand below the Mist. With Dragon’s help, and the special help of other enchanted creatures, she realizes she can make those Thought Beasts behave! Merik and her guide, Dragon, have adventures in the Enchanted Land above the Mist of Illusion, and they meet delightful and magical beings who are dedicated to helping Merik be the happy, laughing girl she knows she is. They also help her find her own power as someone who can help others with their challenges like her own.
