About the Book

Mr. EE has a terrible problem. His sister EA only fixes meals with peas, beans and peaches with cream, all of which causes him to sneeze. All he wants is cheese! In fact, all he wants and thinks he needs is a world filled with things spelled with two “e’s”. Reluctantly, EA agrees to go to sleep so the two can have some peace. And that’s when things get very out of hand. EE greedily buys everything “ee” he can find. Then his jeeps have no seats, his trees have no leaves and, worst of all, he can no longer read! How will he ever survive without EA to balance things out again for him? Author’s Note In the quest to become proficient readers and writers of the English language, every child inevitably encounters those mysterious vowel teams and wonders why we need to have so many ways to represent the same sounds. Your Peas Make Me Sneeze is the first in a series of books introducing children to the whacky world of vowel teams, their crazy antics and relationships, and how they ultimately must respectfully rely upon each other to keep their world (and our language) sane, balanced and beautiful.
