All for Love

About the Book

“I love you” is often the first sentence we learn in the beginning, and then the last we hear at the end. It remains with us throughout our journey. Underway, love may bring out the best in us, but also the worst. Each of the twelve stories in this collection looks at love in a different way: love that is sweet or bitter, gained or denied, enduring or transient, encouraged or forbidden. The time span ranges from the here and now to the long long ago. We see how much in life is attempted and sometimes even achieved “all for love.”

About the Author

Bill Estabrook grew up in a small town on the north shore of Long Island, put in four years in the Air Force and then turned his eye toward academia. Emerging finally from Stanford with a PhD in Germanic Philology, he joined the faculty at UC Davis, where he taught for many years. He has two children and five grandchildren. He took up creative writing fairly late in life and has produced many novels as well as reams of short stories and much poetry. He has chosen to publish only those short stories that are his personal favorites.
