About the Author

James “Bud” Mayer has been surrounded by animals all his life. Even today, stray or hurt animals find their way to his house for help. He lives in Chicago with his wife, children, and three golden retrievers who are also show dogs. They have given their master a roomful of trophies, ribbons, obedience titles, as well as a world of love. His stories began as bedtime tales for his pampered four-legged friends and he was later encouraged by his wife to put them in writing for all to enjoy. Holly’s First Christmas is the first of many such tales.
