About the Book

In the first short story, the book is talking about friends who care about what happens to a friend of theirs. For about two weeks, a friend is missing. Because her girlfriend, who lives next door, hasn’t been able as usual to sit and talk with her on the steps of her house. So after seeing the stranger, she thinks about telling someone her girlfriend is not there anymore. In the second short story, a young but very intelligent writer shares about some of the things we should know about living a good life and being able to dream of things even if we can’t be there in faraway beautiful places.

About the Author

I am an African American woman. I was born on December 22, 1956. My mother passed away when I was four years old. I was raised by my remaining family members. My father passed away when I was about twelve years old. I was raised on a farm. After my father died, I came to live in Michigan. I graduated high school in Detroit, Michigan. I earned my associate’s degree in science from Highland Park Community College. I married my husband, Larry Doran Gadson, in 1989.
