Oliver the Ostrich walked for miles and miles. It seemed like the road would never end. Finally, he saw a sign pointing to a small town up ahead. As he passed the sign saying “Welcome to Huntington,” he saw the entrance to the city zoo on his left. “Ah,” said Ozzy the Ostrich. “I will begin my journey here. I will meet lots of animals at the zoo.” So Ozzy the Ostrich waddled through the legs of the tall, short, thin, and fat people lined up to pay their way into the zoo. The sign read: $1 for adult and 50 cents for children. “I guess the zoo is free for animals,” Ozzy the Ostrich said to himself. So, he went into the zoo. To his right, Ozzy the Ostrich saw a fenced-in area where other ostriches lived. It will full of mother, father, and baby ostriches. “Hi,” he said as he came close to the fence. “I am Ozzy the Ostrich.” “Hi,” said all of the ostriches as they moved closer. “I am here to tell you about Jesus so you can pray for mankind,” said Ozzy the Ostrich. “They are making a terrible mess of things on the earth.” “Oh,” said a baby ostrich named Alberta. “We already know about Jesus. We pray to Him every day about the problems of the world. A couple named Martin and Martha Ostrich came to us a short time ago to tell us about Him. The Lord just blessed them with a son seven days ago, and they tell it everywhere they go. They gave their son back to the Lord, though.” “I was born seven days ago,” said Ozzy the Ostrich. “Martin and Martha Ostrich must be my parents. Tell me more about them.” “Oh, they are wonderful, God-fearing ostriches,” said Alberta. “They really love the Lord and each other. They are just beautiful ostriches.” “Did they say where they were going?” asked Ozzy the Ostrich. “I do want to see them some day.” “They were headed to Pennsylvania to hold an Animal for Jesus rally,” said Alberta. “I hope you catch up with them some day. In the meantime, let me introduce you to the rest of the ostriches here at the zoo. Then you can get some rest. You must be tired from traveling.” The ostriches were so nice to Ozzy the Ostrich. After leading him over to the duck pond to wash, they prepared a wonderful meal for him. After a brief rest, they led him to a grassy area near the park benches where they all sang and told stories. Elias the Ostrich recalled how he and his family first came to live in the zoo. “We lived on a large farm in Africa,” Elias explained. “But our owner became very poor. He sold everything, even us. We were shipped here by boat. It was a long and tiring journey. So, this is home for us now. We are all one big happy family. We have a good life. We used to get tired of the visitors to the zoo staring at us, but it doesn’t bother us much now. We just pray for them as they pass by.” When Ozzy the Ostrich went to sleep that night under the starry sky, he felt so happy. In a way, he wished he could stay at the Huntington Zoo forever. But, he knew that he couldn’t. Tomorrow, he would have to be on his way.

About the Book
This book is a tale of the life and times of a loveable ostrich name Ozzy. A short time after Ozzy the Ostrich is born, he makes a lifelong human friend named Billy to whom he writes letters at various stages on his journey. Ozzy begins an awesome and amazing adventure-filled journey to fulfill his purpose and mission in life: to preach about Jesus to the animal kingdom so that they will pray for mankind. While fulfilling his mission, Ozzy travels to various places. He visits the Huntington Zoo where he meets a very special ostrich named Alberta who becomes his life-long partner. He also engages with a host of other animal characters while on his journey. Together, Ozzy and Alberta have a wonderful stay at the Penguin Inn. While there, they make some new animal friends. Subsequently, they continue their travels until they ultimately find Ozzy’s mother and father at the Midwest Animal Believers Convention. As the story progresses, the reader is thrilled as Alberta gives birth to twin ostriches who also pursue their purpose and mission in life. At this point and time, a letter will not suffice. As the story concludes, Ozzy comes full circle as he travels back to share the events of his life in person with Billy.
