The Danger of Striving to Be Rich
Filthy rich are all some people want to be, it does not matter who they bring down in the process. It is not enough for companies to make a million dollar profit a day that company wants to make a two million dollar more profit the next day. Greed will lead to poverty in a lot of cases. These kinds of people have purposed in their hearts that they were going to be rich one day as long as they could remember. They had friends and family they needed to prove something to. They had enemies that they were going to prove that they were the best. When striving to get rich does not happen quick enough, one starts to scheme to make it happen. People as well as large businesses want more and more. It is a shame the way some businesses rob people. There are times the high prices does not reflect the quality of the merchandise or the service. Companies pad their prices because they know the people need what they are providing. There are numerous things people can live without, but have that keeping up with the Joneses complex. The sad truth is that one cannot take anything with them when they die. When businesses fail, they blame it on the economy. The thing about it is they want to double their profit every day. They do not realize that their rising businesses can come to an abrupt end. People and businesses often expand their desire for personal stuff and they increase prices to satisfy their insatiable lust for money. Some church leaders rob its members for all they can get out of them, and they do it all in the name of Jesus Christ. Some church leaders expect the members to pay for their home, insurance on their home and family, maid service, car note, insurance on the vehicles, and provide them with 401Ks, and this is just a small portion of the expense members are expected to provide. To clarify myself all church leaders do not go to this extent. Some pastors, leaders and evangelists feel they are supposed to get rich from ministering God’s Word. Let me be clear pastors do need to be given an offering, but not use all of the collected money for their benefit. These are the hirelings that has to be paid to be shepherds over God’s flock. Dictionary.com define hireling as, “A person who works only for pay, especially in a menial or boring job, with little or no concern for the value of the work. They will bleed the flock dry. They give people prophecies that never come true. Members continue to stand in long lines to pay large sums of money to hear a prophecy that will never come to pass. This tactic to hood wink the members out of their monies began back in the first century. There were leaders practicing witch craft and magicians that had people believing they were miracle workers, but was the Servants of Satan. They use enticing words and magic to deceive the viewers. Most of their tricks were done to separate the people from their money. The same thing is happening in churches around the world today using the same tricks to get the majority of members involved. A large number of Christian do not want to wait on God or even serve God but want to hear how they are going to get this huge financial blessing because they paid their $100.00 when the pastor, leader or evangelist asked for it. Some members yet have that baby Christian mentality and cannot recognize the game, or understand the true power of God. Many church members are blinded by the tricks of these pretenders of God who are actually servants of Satan. Many churches service is entertainment and the collection of money for personal gain in the name of Jesus. The scripture explicitly records in:
Matthew 10:8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give. Jesus sent the disciples out and advised them what to do and instructed them not to take money or goods for their services, he told them they have freely received the gifts to heal people, to preach the gospel, and that they should give to the people freely without offering. Hirelings cannot do these things that Jesus advised the disciples to do. Many people do not take time to read the Bible; they only listen to the preachers some of whom preach the Bible to line up with their lifestyle. Many people do not grow in the grace of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, therefore, many times people will not understand what they read if they read anything before getting to church on a Sunday morning. I think church leaders who extract or trick members out of their money are predators and commit offenses against God and the law. Some church pastors or leaders have gotten rich from its church members. Some of the church leaders really do love money and most of us never know or understand what the scriptures records in:
I Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. Some church leaders start out with good intentions. Although it has been said, “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”. They use to accept offering that was given as a “free will offering”, meaning people gave what they desired or could afford to give. At some point the preachers or church leaders especially evangelists got greedy and wanted more and more, they had to prove something to others. They began to love stuff and in order to get stuff they began to need more and more money. The love of money took root which is evil. While some of these church leaders or pastors coveted another goods or even another pastor’s church. Covet mean to want passionately that which belongs to someone else. In the mean time they have gone astray, and violated a moral code for the love of money.
