About the Author

James was a journalism major in college before serving a tour in Vietnam in 1968–1969. He spent several years writing poetry during his forty-year career in retail management before retiring to publish his first book in 2011. This is his ninth publication from the twenty novels written so far, and all but two are chapter books. This is the third of four in the Phoenix quest series, and he has published six of his eight anthology books, with another due out this summer. James is living his dream with his wife, Shellie, on Harstine Island along the shores of Puget Sound. Life is an adventure; enjoy the ride.
