From My Heart to Yours—Enhance Your Life with G.R.A.C.E

REVEL This is a truly essential principle of G R A C E. WHY? When we experience our empirical world, via our senses... we add immense value by plugging in our souls. This creates another dimension of experience and enjoyment. I refer to this as `REVELLING.' By taking a positive, happy, experience or situation and milking it of its last drop of liquid, and you derive the ultimate benefit from it; you bring about a far more enhanced life. Another description would be, to squeeze as many drops of juice out of an orange as you can, savouring the taste, while concentrating on it. I recall with such pleasure, when I was a little girl. I would grip my fingers to make fists and then squeeze them as hard as I could to savour joy, excitement and pleasure. It was my way of expressing feelings that couldn't be served by words. Revelling in things is what assists in bringing us into the moment. By being mindful of what is worthwhile to us, we encapsulate it into a mental and soulful photograph. We access that little child in ourselves. Almost as if we savoured experiences, as our first. IDEAS A] Wherever and however you journey to a nearby or far off destination, be cognisant of all those things that bring your senses pleasure. [Beautiful trees, plants, the sky, colours, birds, architecture, Seasonal changes and those examples indigenous to the area.] These pertain to the sense of sight, but the sound of birds and music and kind words from someone to another and anything via the sense of hearing are stimuli. Obviously the same applies to smell; taste and touch. [Apropos smell, I have felt it incumbent to add a section on AROMA, in the `A' of G R A C E.] Here is a way to develop a modus operandi to become enthralled with positive experiences via the senses. It's an encouraging and fun game to play with kids. I have called it: `THE POSITIVE GAME'. In a designated time frame, while walking or driving to a place... take turns to see who can mention the most pleasurable things. Or, start off with the ugly negatives[ litter; cracked unkempt walls; distasteful architecture; thoughtlessness; pot holes etc] and with the same principle [the winner is the one who suggests the most and becomes the first to change tack and find the positives]. Obviously, the purpose of this is in order to diffuse or counteract the negative. There are many other games to play, in order to revel in day to day, or week to week concepts. Mention a word; phrase or sentence and the other players have to suggest a positive connection to them. A vote is taken of whose synonym; description and response is the best in conjuring up positive feelings; memories; experiences. At dinner parties or gatherings of people around a table or in a convivial atmosphere, take turns to share happy or funny experiences. The most absorbing and inspirational or funny, get awarded a prize. As you nod off to sleep, or if you find it difficult to fall asleep, lie thinking about happy moments, memories and interludes in time. [They bring you, upliftment and happy nostalgia.]
