About the Book
“In the time before time, and the space before space, lines were orderly and stayed in their place.” But one line dares to ask, “Aren’t we meant to be more?” This is the story of Strand, who goes on a quest to become more. After trying to be like shapes, which are lines that have made something more of themselves, Strand and his friend Trace learn that becoming more is something completely unexpected and surprising. A Story Line sees deep meaning expressed in simple rhyme and images, just like the young people the book is for, who often see and express profound insight in the simplest things. Yet this story will have wide appeal for people of all ages, whether readers are young folks or those who search for more.
About the Author
Greg Bell writes and illustrates children’s book from his home along the Milwaukee River. Greg and his wife Sybil raised four children and have four grandchildren. He learned from them that kids have surprisingly deep insights into the simplest things. They are his inspiration for writing children’s books with depth and meaning. After a career in communications, Greg is a new children’s book author and illustrator. A Story Line is his first book. It’s about Strand and Trace, two lines who dare to think lines can be more. He is currently working two more books about the trouble Zero is having with her friends 1 through 9, and about a raindrop with an identity crisis. Greg looks forward to your comments; contact him at gbell02@mac.com (or whatever is appropriate).
