About the Book

Set during the early 1900s in a European town full of old traditions, The Four Orphans is an empowering and emotionally charged family history that evokes many thoughts and feelings within the reader as they follow the lives of the Gacek family. Following the tragic loss of their parents, newly orphaned Stefan, Maria, Anna, and Rebecca have no choice but to leave their heartbreak behind as they go through all the ups, downs, and mysteries life has to offer, alone.

About the Author

Elizabeth Mayer is an 83 year old woman who has dedicated the last 6 years of her life reliving and recounting the amazing histories of her family. Before relocating to Australia with her husband and 3 children during the 1960's, Elizabeth spent the first chapter of her life growing up in Europe, where as a young girl she experienced the devastating and traumatising impacts caused by the second world war. Her family's life has been far from easy at at times hard to believe some of the events which have unfolded. Her writing unleashes powerful feelings of love, heartbreak, determination, strength and hope from deep within the reader.
