About the Author
Dr. Kimberly D. Shamberger, Ph.D. is a NACP Advanced Advocate licensed by the National Advocate Credentialing Program and Divorce Care Facilitator. She was born in Newark, NJ, Graduated from Seton Hall University with a B.A. in Criminal Psychology. She has a B.A. in Religious Education, M.A. in Theology, a Ph.D. in Christian Counseling and a Pedagogy degree. Dr. Shamberger was Ordained as a Eucharistic Minister in 1995, an Ordained Lector, Ordained Elder and Life Coach. Kimberly D. Shamberger, DVS taught in the Newark Public School System for 6 years. She is currently employed at the Essex County Division of Family Assistance and Benefits as a Trainer, has held the following positions: Family Service Worker, Family Service Supervisor, 27 years of service. Kimberly D. Shamberger has worked and trained in the field of Family Violence for more than 19 years, she id the Coordinator for the Irvington, Police Department's DVCRT (Domestic Violence Crisis Response Team) for 10 years. She is educated in the fields of and continues her training in Domestic Violence, Rape, Human Trafficking and Suicide Prevention. This author also has a passion for youth. She has given many youth seminars sharing knowledge with youth simultaneously giving them a forum to be heard. She also enlightening parents about youth concerns. She has been working with homeless and troubled youth for several years. Dr. Shamberger is also currently working with Covenant House Crisis Shelter and several other Covenant House facilities as a Youth Advisor.
