THE PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS

About the Book

The basis of this book is The Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. A poem was written about each line of The Prayer by the author of the book. Selected individuals also wrote reflections about each line of The Prayer. A preface was composed by an individual who also wrote one of the reflections regarding one of the lines within The Prayer. An introduction is presented by the composer of the poems. This entire project is founded on Christ’s message that we love one another as Christ loved all of us.

About the Author

Dr. Nicholas J. Hanna is the writer of this book of poems. Born in poverty, he rose to comfortable affluence by his own efforts. In 1970, he received his Ph.D. from Ohio University. A licensed psychologist, he practiced in his field for over forty years. Dr. Hanna taught counseling at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from 1970 – 2011, when he retired. He was always enamored by The Prayer of St. Francis and spent one year studying in the Order of the Franciscan Friars of Atonement. During his professional career, Dr. Hanna conducted workshops: Open Your Heart and Relationships With Fathers, both on the local and national levels, using the principles of St. Francis’ spirituality. He continues to write poetry, is married and has two adult children and seven grandchildren. The author resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Daytona Beach, Florida.
