Introduction
We are living in a very critical hour. The times in which we live are unlike those that any other generation has experienced. I believe that we are the generation that will usher in the return of the Lord.
There is one very important thing that I want to touch on in this book—something that I think is very important in this life, and it is the subject and person of the Holy Spirit.
The most misunderstood and misinterpreted person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit. When discussed, the Evangelicals see the Holy Spirit as a dormant, unannounced guest living inside. Both Pentecostals and Charismatics see the Holy Spirit as the force behind speaking in tongues and the motivator of spiritual zeal. With Pentecostals, His presence is often heralded with great emotional display, whereas Charismatics present the Holy Spirit as the operator of signs, wonders, and diverse manifestations, such as falling under the power. This book should give enlightenment and a better understanding of the Holy Spirit and what it truly means.
Chapter 1
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mind, and shall show it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall who
—John 16:7, 12–15
Who or what is the Holy Spirit? He is not a feeling or a falling; neither is He some kind of crying or wailing. He is not an emotion—He is a person. He is not an emotion—He is a person! He is a personality in the order of the Godhead. He is the third person of the Trinity. He is in charge of the affairs of the kingdom of God in the earth today. He is chief executive of the divine program on earth. He is the motivator, energizer, and operator of every revealed plan or vision from God. He is the revealer of the hidden treasures of the kingdom and holds the keys to the inheritance of the saints. The Holy Spirit is the most valuable asset to Christian living and is the central figure of any breakthrough experience in life.
I know that you are saying to yourself, “If this is so, then why are there so many counterfeits?” The presence of a counterfeit is a sure proof of the existence of the genuine. No other person of the Godhead is more impersonated than the Holy Spirit. He is the reality of the hour. The Bible says that the Spirit who lives in us is the same Spirit who brought life to the body of Jesus Christ in the grave and raised Him from the dead. This means that the Spirit of God in us causes our mortal body to become supernaturally alive. It is illegal for anything to dwell in your body where the Holy Spirit dwells; neither should any form of want or lack remain there either. Remember, after you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you become a container of God’s fire. That fire is not just to keep you warm; it also burns and consumes all the chaff.
The Holy Spirit guarantees your health by revitalizing your body and making it immune to spiritual matters only; rather, they cover all spheres of life. Because of the Holy Spirit, you’ll always have a solution to every problem. The Holy Spirit wants to lead our lives and make decisions for us also. If you acknowledge Him in all your ways, He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5–6). The Holy Spirit will teach you how to profit by leading you in the way that you should go (Isaiah 48:17).
Just think, when the Holy Spirit leads your life, there is no way that you can miss it. Spend time practicing the presence of the Holy Spirit, and purpose to live each day Spirit-led; it’s the key to abundant life. The Holy Spirit will make the difference in your life. So as we journey through this book, you will understand the path that will lead you to nothing lacking, nothing broken, and nothing missing in your life. To simplify the previous statement, you will have your needs met spiritually, emotionally, physically, and financially.
