Suddenly, Martha exclaims, “I’m worried, Bill. I’m really scared!” Before Bill can answer, she continues, “I just don’t know how we’re going to get through the winter.” Acknowledging Martha’s concern, Bill responds, “I appreciate how you feel, Martha. We’re 70 years old, worked hard all our lives to raise our children, only to lose our jobs and pensions to the plant closure in the “Hedge Fund” hostile takeover and then what little we had been able to save to be lost in last years’ “robber baron” financial collapse. And we’re not alone, Bill, the young families in the neighborhood are in the same situation. I know, Martha, and the situation isn’t going to improve anytime soon with a Republican “seditionist” controlled congress. But I also feel in my bones, Martha, the American people deep down do understand the truth behind both the Republican “fifty-year” political-economic Betrayal of America, and the Republican 2024 authoritarian drive for the power of retribution and dominance over a racist political “fascist” America in 2025.

About the Book
CARNIVAL OF SHAME is a reflective commentary on the Fifty-Year Conservative “Assault on America,” from the 1971 “Powell” political grand design to save “Capitalism from Democracy” and the 1981 Republican “Trickle-Down” Revolution to the January 6, 2021 Republican violent insurrection to overturn the Constitution and the electoral will of the people. Yesterday’s America of promise, opportunity, and prosperity for the many is today an America of “concentrated wealth,” wealthy tax cuts, and a Republican Subsistence “Trickle-Down” Society for the “surplus” left behind. The time is now the moment is here for a People of Liberty to come together for an America of secure democratic institutions, a strong middle class, and a Republic of “Liberty and Justice for All. Remember WE Must They came promising “Trickle-Down” Prosperity Then Repealed the Rule of Law Took our Jobs and Pensions Undermined our Civil Liberties As Fascism Triumphed in the Suffering Silence Of Human Bondage.
About the Author
M.G. Montpelier is an Eagle Scout, teacher, genealogist, and retired Federal officer. A native of Rouses Point, New York, he is a graduate of Paul Smith’s College and the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and Charter Member of the New Hampshire-Canadian Trade Council. He is the author of several works on the greed and corruption of the Republican “Lives for Profit” America of “Trickle-Down” individual extremism.
