About the Book
John finished high school in 1942. After a hedonistic summer in Fairhope, Alabama, John feels the pull of the war effort and joins the Air Corps. John and his crew are trained and sent to England to fight in the air war against Germany. He adapts to combat and finds he can function in stressful situations.
After combat, John returns home and falls for a girl who he admires but doesn’t love. She leaves. The war is over, John wants to get his college education started. He check to see why his wife has stopped the divorce and experiences the shock of his life.
About the Author
Mr. John H. Cunningham is married and he and his wife Rose have two children and two grandchildren. He served three and a half years in the Army Air Corps during WWII and flew fifty combat missions over Nazi Germany. He continued his education after his discharge and graduated from Georgia Institute if Technology in 1950. Practicing architecture as a principal in his own firm, he also found time to invest in real estate and write. He has published several articles and eight poems and is currently working on several other manuscripts.
