The hurting and healing are the hopeless, discouraged, divorced, widows and widowers, children who still hurt due to their old wounds, try to go through the motions of life with little ambition or motivation to do any better. Nobody told them, “I believe in you. You can do it,” or, “One day, you will do something to make us all proud.”
The homeless, the downtrodden and dispossessed are everywhere and those who are suffering injustice, human indignity and unbelievable poverty in a world where there is more than enough for all, cry out in desperate hoe for healing and transformation that will lead to a new day and a new way of life. We are all together in this!
God is in charge of your seasons. Don’t take things personally because life is often a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Life is full of ups and downs and filled with a collection of unexpected surprises. It is nice to think that we will always be happy and fulfilled, but unfortunately, that is not always the case. The odds are loaded against us.
Behind your situation lies purpose. Broken things become useful in God’s time. There are some lessons you would never even acknowledge without going through certain things that demand you to acknowledge them. You learn what you want and you learn what you do not want in the middle of hurt. You learn what is right and you learn what is wrong in the centre of your hurt. Sometimes you are not aware until hurt knocks on your door and all of a sudden, you wake up.
Life is Like a Puzzle. Life is a like a test that you can fail if you don’t do it right. There are a few other things that can crop up in life that you can fail if you do not do them right. If you know they may arise, you can be more prepared to fight through them. As you get to know people in church, you will discover who wants to go on with Jesus and who is just playing the game.
We can touch hearts of the hurting in different ways. After a long winter, spring eventually comes and with it new leaves appear on the trees in all their refreshing beauty. In the summer they thrive. In the fall they die. But in dying their beauty is greater than in the spring. But the tree doesn't die. The falling leaves just make further growth possible. Moreover, that's the cycle of life-struggle, pain, beauty, growth.
Take care of your heart. You are responsible for your heart because it is the engine if your life. Once you are able to take care of your heart, God will take care of your healing. Remember, you are what is in your heart, don’t blame other people for what you are going through. It hurts to forgive those who turned their backs on you. More and more often we find people who have been hurt deeply within the church of God, leaving them worn and exhausted.
I want to encourage you by saying; hold your peace. Through this book, God is giving you an opportunity not only to learn more about His Word, but also to better and improve your life. By adopting what you learn and applying it to your own life and circumstances, you will be able to enjoy a better, more successful life. God wants your life to be better for His Glory. You see, when your life is better, it makes God look good.
Pain is unavoidable and suffering is optional. There is healing after hurt. Sometimes God even allows the hurts to come in your lives to see where your commitment lies. For instance, if God calls you to a church, and because you get hurt you leave. Will God change His mind about the call? No.
Your case is settled in heaven. Concentrate on things you love. Let go! Let God! Allow healing to take place. Everyone gets over hurt if they continue to move on. What hinders is when you stop in the hurt and meditate on it. It is impossible to keep moving forward if you meditate on your hurt. Whatever you meditate is the determining factor for what you will do or say next.
Hurting circumstances arise in life. Life has taught me how to stand in the word of God in the midst of tempting circumstances. Tempting circumstances arise when you begin to give and receive love in sharing the Body of Christ. God doesn’t want you merely to learn how to stay out of sin; He wants to teach you how to be transformed into His image.
There is healing power of forgiveness. We do not prolong our pain by continuing to focus on unforgiveness. In becoming willing to forgive, we free ourselves from the bondage of an unforgiving attitude and allow divine love to flow through us unhindered.
There are principles of healing we can use. People differ in the sense that many can face life again despite emotional traumas while others remain stuck with either the healing or the hurting process for many years. Something not good, when people don't heal properly from emotional traumas, they internalize so much pain for many years.
You cannot run before God. Every person on earth lives out a unique script of hardship; being single when marriage was the goal, physical disability, poverty, childhood abuse, racial prejudice, chronic illness, family dysfunction, addiction, and loneliness. Suffering is not only part of the human condition; it seems, at times, to be the norm of our condition. Forgiveness precedes healing. When you are unable to forgive yourself, you have increased the depressing signs. You also have more concern and a weaker resistant system.
Wellness and fitness is wealth. Each area of your life is connected to all the others. Like a chain, you are only as strong as your weakest link. Remember, if your physical body is not performing how it should, it is going to weigh you down emotionally and cause strain in your personal, marriage and family relationships.
