About the Book

Dance of Desire is based on a true story of tangled passions in New Orleans, America's most intriguing and sensuous city. Real names are changed, all dialogue is invented, and some scenes are fictionalized for dramatic purposes.

When Remy Rawley's husband dies suddenly at age 60, she cannot cope with widowhood. After a period of mourning, the lonely widow, then 56 years old, begins attending singles dances with her divorced  friend, Grace Hill.  Friends Ellen and Alex O'Reilly and Vince and Angela Santorini, as well as Grace, keep Remy busy with activities and trips. Remy  becomes engaged to a Cajun man she meets at a neighborhood bar, but after a stormy relationship, they break up. Remy then goes from man to man, living dangerously. After several more romantic encounters, she and Vince Santorini begin a clandestine relationship. Vince's wife Angela becomes suspicious. One Sunday evening, Angela barges into Remy's apartment to confront her husband and her best friend. Remy's life ends abruptly in a rage of jealousy. This tale seethes with sensuality and is as lush and provocative as New Orleans itself.

Takes readers on a virtual trip into the exciting world of New Orleans–jazz, voodoo, Mardi Gras, seafood boils, the sultry heat of bayou country, the gothic buildings of the French Quarter, and romantic Mississippi River paddlewheelers. On the way, readers are treated to a dozen Cajun and Creole recipes so they can recreate the gustatory delights of the Big Easy in their own kitchens.
