About the Book

This is yet another collection of short stories and one essay that I wrote back in 1996. The text may look a little funny at times because it was originally written using WordPerfect 5.1. As usual the stories are dark and intense and deal with the night. You never know what mysteries lay at night and in the darkness, especially during a rainstorm

like in the story:  The First Storm. The other stories One Afternoon; Remain Still; Inside; By Order of Design; In The Shadows; are dark, mysterious and intense like I said, but before the last story there is a personal essay that I wrote:  Lost Souls. Lost Souls is a personal essay about myself and other lost souls who I saw during a low period, yet growing period in my life, it is close to my heart.

About the Author

LLOYD E. SCOTT (b. 1955) was born in Oakland, California, reared in Berkeley and Los Angeles, California. He is divorced with no children and lives in Oakland. He is the author of 11 novels, and over eight collections of short stories. Lloyd works for a Law Firm in San Francisco’s Financial District.
