About the Book
HEAR MY SILENCE is the factual account of the problems Roger Small generated and experienced as the food service director of the Sullivan County Nursing Home in unity, New Hampshire. The home was county owned and poorly managed as detailed in Hear My Silence. Three elected county commissioners were the governing board (a mailman, a beer salesmen and an obscure lawyer). Small's efforts to improve management were met with resentment. After he informed the commissioners he planned to notify the newspapers of a severe cockroach problem, he was demoted (after 6 years of putting out 1,000 meals a day and getting excellent grades from state inspections). This book tells about Small's public' hearings and his subsequent success in causing the #1 commissioner to get defeated in his bid for reelection.
